Does WingFest have the best wings in Lincoln?

Yes. The planning committee seeks out the best chicken wings in all of Lincoln, Nebraska and we ask them to participate in WingFest. Because WingFest is a fundraiser, the Wing Vendors donate their time and chicken wings to the event, competing for the titles of Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice. We are grateful for their help in presenting this top-notch food festival to you.

What does WingFest raise money for?

WingFest raises funds for Creative Learning Spaces in Lincoln and Lancaster County. This provides enhanced learning environments for children in our schools, helping our community meet educational goals.

What do I get for my ticket?

Your ticket gives you access to the best wings in Lincoln! Each ticketholder will receive wing tickets (either 12 or 16, the amount depends on which ticket you purchase) which you can exchange for wings during the event. Wings are served on a first-come, first-served basis 5-7 PM. There will also be live music at the event as well as hard and soft drinks and ice cream for purchase, 5-8 PM.

Can I purchase additional wings at the event if I am still hungry?

Yes, additional wing tickets will be available for purchase à la carte at the event while supplies last. When our participating restaurants run out of wings, they are out!

What is ELU?

ELU stands for Emerging Leaders United. Members of ELU are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s and make an annual gift of $500, $1,000, $1,500 or $2,500 to United Way’s ENGAGE.EMPOWER.GRADUATE. initiative.

ENGAGE.EMPOWER.GRADUATE. is a joint initiative undertaken by United Way Women United and United Way Emerging Leaders United. Together the groups are identifying and addressing the disadvantages that children and families face in local elementary school communities to ensure children and their families, regardless of circumstances, have the opportunity to succeed in school and life.

Can I use all of my wing tickets on one wing vendor?

Yes, but the idea is to try all of the wings and vote for your favorite! You will be limited with how many wings you can get during each trip to a booth.

Is WingFest for kids and families?

Yes, WingFest is for families of all kinds. At WingFest kids 2 and under get in free, but remember that they will not get wing tickets. If you would like wing tickets for your child, you will need to purchase an entry ticket for them.

Will there be anything besides wings to eat?

Ice cream, beer and soft beverages will be for sale at the event. Thanks to the generosity of Colby Ridge, 50% of all ice cream sales will be donated to United Way Emerging Leaders United to benefit Creative Learning Spaces for youth in Lincoln and Lancaster County!
